 As expected, filming was not the fun part, like I thought it would be. However, it was definitely less time consuming this time around than the first time I ever did a 2 minute film. To make this process more natural, I wouldn't always tell my actors when I was filming. For instance, when two of them were actively engaged in conversation, I would start filming. When I input the footage while editing, the dialogue appeared very natural to the audience. Another important thing I want to mention is the perfect use of my environment. As mentioned a couple times now, this film is a thriller/suspense. That being said, I wanted to incorporate dim lighting or something of the sort. Then, on my second day of filming, it randomly began to rain cats and dogs and the sky was very cloudy. Writing this script was not as hard as I imagined. Instead of doing it the conventional way- which is script first and then film- I did the opposite. I knew the idea for this film and I wanted the words to come natural to my cast members. Not everyone speaks nor thinks the same way and considering they aren't professional actors, I didn't want to add the pressure of conveying emotion to MY words. Therefore, I directed and filmed the scenes to my two minute opening and later wrote my script as I was reviewing the almost finished product. I searched "script writing websites" online and looked through a couple links before ultimately using a website called Celtx.com.  I am well aware that the due date for my portfolio is coming very fast. That being said, it's time to inform you of my director decisions. Some of the finer details within these two minutes will have to do with the location, diegetic sounds, and clothing. When it comes to the location, I plan on using my local college campus for the scenery. I included a picture so you can get a better idea. Apart from grass and outdoors, the campus also has tall buildings and stairways.   If I had to make a pitch for Blumhouse Productions it would be such an honor. This company founded by Jason Blum has achieved ground breaking films with such a low budget. Some of their well-known movies (shown below in order) are: The Purge, Happy Death Day, and Paranormal Activity.  Which Company Did I Chose and Why: Blumhouse productions has inspired my film with a few of their most successful movies. The majority of this company produces films under the same genre as my opening: thriller and suspense. Blumhouse Productions would be the perfect candidate to distribute my film opening because they already have the necessary foundational experience. The process of research is one that can't be overlooked. I have previously made a two-minute film but there is always room to learn more. One of my favorite American actress' is Halle Berry. She has been in a plethora of movies. Two of my favorite happen to be "The Call" and "Kidnap" which are under the thriller/suspense genre.   In this overhead shot of Halle Berry in Kidnap, you can clearly see the distress in her face. I thought it was interesting that the film crew decided to shoot her in a yellow shirt. From research, I know that yellow tends to be a color to show happiness and vibrancy. It really illustrates the type of mother she is and helps contrasts her current situation. In the movie, her son is kidnapped and without much help from the police, she choses to find her son alone. Due to this, she encounters multiple obstacles and the audiences watches her character develop from a happy, loving person to a terrified, brave mother. With my film opening...
